In
the USA the various different states charge taxes
to property and land owners for the provision of services
such as garbage collection and road repairs. This
is similar in the UK where local authorities charge
us “Council Tax” for providing services.
The
HUGE difference is that under US Law if this tax is
unpaid then the individual state can place a second
charge against the offender and this too must be paid
off with interest. In order for the US States to raise
capital from these unpaid taxes they sell them off
to individuals with the guarantee that they will receive
18 – 36% interest.
Not
only that but if the offending owner does not pay
the back taxes then you get the property or land that
the taxes are owed upon.

This
can be a fantastic method for investment. Imagine
a land owner owes $2000 in back taxes on a $80,000
plot and doesn’t pay. You would LEGALLY take
possession of that plot! For a $2,000 investment you
end up with a plot of land worth $80,000 that you
could offer to the surrounding land owners for say
$40,000 for a quick sale, making $38,000 profit !!
